We Appreciate Your Donations for Our Thrift Stores

Our thrift stores would not exist without you! Please consider giving a second life to your gently used household and clothes through our Treasure Chest stores. Sales benefit the ministry of MorningStar Mission – and of course all of our patrons! We offer two options to provide donations:

1. Drop off items at our Main Office, 350 E. Washington, Joliet OR our Thrift Stores

Donation Drop Off Hours:
Mon-Fri: 9am-6pm
Saturday: 9am-4pm
Sunday: 12pm-3pm – New Lenox location only.

Donations we do NOT accept:
• Automotive tires or car seats.
• Hazardous materials, paint, or paint thinners.
• Electronics such as computers, copier, printers, light fixtures(used), speakers(large), tube TVs, VHS or cassette tapes.
• Any outdated baby items, building supplies or materials, office equipment, pianos or organs.
• Furniture donations we do not accept: china cabinets/armoires/buffets/hutches, roll top desks, dishwashers, entertainment centers, leather furniture that is cracked/faded/peeling, stained or worn mattresses, and sofa sleepers. Patio furniture is accepted seasonally.
• Headboard and footboards.

Donations for our guests are gladly accepted at our main office and stores during business hours until one hour before closing.  When items are dropped off at our main office location our guests are provided for immediately.  Items not in need at that moment are then sent to New Lenox Treasure Chest because that store is our processing center where items are evaluated and sorted and prepared for storage for future use of our guests and/or sale.  As new guests arrive at our shelter, if we do not have what they need at that moment, they are given a voucher to take to our Joliet store to get exactly what it is they do need.  Transportation for our guests is provided if necessary.

2. Schedule Pick-Up Service

Our priority service pick ups are managed through ReSupply, an independent veteran owned and operated company. The pick-up fee reflects operating costs and is much less than a typical moving company or junk hauler fee. (Pick up fee is not tax deductible, but donated items are.) Call ReSupply at 334-454-3936 to schedule.

• Pickups as soon as 2 business days (Mon-Sat), subject to time slot availability
• Can pick up from multiple floors
• Can disassemble furniture
• Items of ANY condition can be picked up
